BMW Active Tourer Concept, BMW’s first hybrid car. BMW was looking forward to soon reveal the car’s first generation plug-in hybrid technology. After success with TwinPower Turbo technology development, BMW wanted to strengthen the eco-friendly car through the BMW Concept Active Tourer.

BMW Concept Active Tourer will enter the premium compact city car segment with the advantages of dynamic performance and style. As a model city car, BMW Concept Active Tourer also continue to promote the sporty design and comfort of the BMW factory standards.

Sources of energy that will be used is a merger of the two latest engine technology BMW Group Efficient Dynamics. Grilled engines rely on petrol fuel with a capacity of 1.5 liter 3 cylinder.

Looking for an electric motor that has also been developed by BMW will be powered with lithium-ion battery as well as the intelligent engine control unit. Electrical system that is used is also similar to the eDrive technology in the BMW i8.

BMW Concept Active Tourer dimension has a length 4,350 mm, width 1,834 mm, height 1,560 mm and 2,670 mm long whellbase. BMW Concept Active Tourer will also be a BMW car model that uses front-wheel drive system. Here’s the promo video for the BMW hybrid car first:
